So much nerdiness; so little time.
I'm torn between two very geeky activities tonight: I can either go see Episode III -- by myself (geek factor: 15 on a 20-sided die) or play World of Warcraft all night (geek factor: 19), which I've pretty much been completely obsessed with since being talked into playing it by a friend.
On the one hand, this is the first Star Wars prequel I didn't see in a theater on the day it opened. I guess it must be my old age, but I don't have much patience for "The Kids" loitering around movie theaters any more. There was a time when I insisted on driving well out of my way to see a movie in a luxurious stadium-seating theater with big, plush seats, deafening surround-sound and a screen that wrapped around your head. But now, I really don't mind going to the ghetto theater next to the dumpy, outdated mall east of downtown (where I once ran into Roy Scheider, back in the day when he was in Orlando filming that God-awful TV show SeaQuest DSV, standing in line for a movie -- he's quite short), essentially because it's not hip enough for The Kids any more, so they don't hang out there.
So I'd resolved not to see Episode III on the first day. But then, as I browsed through movie photos last night, then read online reviews of the movie today, I really am wanting to go. I feel like I'm missing out on something exciting, something that was missing for the first two prequels. I've never been too keen on cosplay, or dressing up, but I find it kind of cool that people all over the world are dressing up as stormtroopers, Amidala, Vader and Jedi. I saw pictures last night of people in Peru and Russia dressing up for the premiere. The Star Wars subculture is almost like a universal language that everyone can embrace.
On the other hand, this computer game has become an addiction. I don't consider myself a gamer (though I have gamed and gone to conventions in the past), but occasionally, I'll come across a game that grabs me, and this is one of them. It's like a terrific, exciting book you cannot put down. Or Microsoft Windows' Minesweeper. Or Tetris. Must... resist...

Yeah, Roy was small. Remeber when that was a new theater and THE one to go too? So old school.
And I've ruined you with WoW. HA!!!

I live by the laws of physics: Objects at rest tend to remain at rest. After a hot shower, I got really tired and didn't have the energy to go through the process of preparing myself to be seen in public. So I grabbed the 2-liter of Dew, ripped open a bag of Munchos, put on a black T-shirt and grew roots into my office chair.
