I'm rowing tomorrow morning for the first time in nearly 2 months. I'm really excited about it. It's just a one-time deal during the holiday break, since I'm out of school this week, and some of my old crewmates are at home bored and vegging. And we'll have a coach, a young guy named Jason, who's training for a national team of some sort. I hear he's good and am looking forward to rowing for him.
Only problem is, I'm sore and blistered from playing tennis yesterday for the first time in nearly a year. The BF and tennis partner had been out for months with a severe back injury. We're not great, but we're both pretty evenly matched and both insist on hitting it hard and not giving each other any breaks -- which makes for some short points but long games that go back and forth from deuce, your ad, deuce, my ad, deuce, my ad, deuce, your ad... It's the game that wouldn't end. My right leg and buttcheek are sore -- WTF? -- and I have a blister on my right thumb. The thumb's going to be problematic for rowing 'cause it's the hand with which I grip the oar the hardest. It'll hurt, but it'll be a good hurt. Hammer on! (It's a rowing thing.)
