12/13/2004: "Dusting off the cobwebs"

I guess I should post something so people don't think I'm dead.

  • Nya nya. Today has been a perfect example of why one lives in Florida. It's a veritable blizzard up north, but it's 72 degrees, slightly breezy, bright and sunny and beautiful here in the swampy goodness between the Redneck Riviera and Alligator Alley.

  • I've been pretty overwhelmed lately between school, work and Christmas activities. As you might expect, I've been forced to put Christmas obligations off till the last minute, so I'm still shopping and struggling to set aside some time to fill out Christmas cards. I haven't forgotten about you.

  • School hasn't been hard, but it's been a LOT of information shoved into our heads in a very short period of time. I can barely tell my gluteus maximus (ass) from my external auditory meatus (hole in my head). I'm fascinated, just overwhelmed by too much information.

  • My girl, Amber, has gone nutso. I think it's the cool, dry, crisp weather. She's no spring chicken, but that hasn't stopped her from darting up and down the hallway, cooing, meowing, demanding attention, rolling on her back under the bed, trying to get the mellow cat to play (to no avail), then dashing off, tail poofed, with hair standing on end -- over and over again for the past few days. She's a trip.

  • Going to see another wrestling event next month with my wrestling buddy (and ex-coworker) in Fort Lauderdale. It should be a hoot. Big, manly, ripped men acting like goofs. I can't wait.

  • Nervous about my first critiqued massage for a grade, coming up sometime this week, called the first evaluation (there's a second, more comprehensive one, considered the final exam, right before you graduate). It's critiqued and graded by a clinical instructor. It's nearly impossible to fail, but just being in the spotlight and under a microscope makes me terribly nervous. The thought of it is making me more nervous than the anatomy test also this week.

    Current mood: Sleepy
