05/10/2004: "OMG"

I must have read at least 50 "Choose Your Own Adventures" as a kid. Naturally, I find there's a site themed after it: http://www.chooseyourownny.com/CYOA-1.htm

Current mood: Amused

Cool! Looks like a good way to get exercise, too!

I loved these books! As a matter of fact, CYOA books helped inspire me to draw. For a while, I was so obsessed with them that I would buy two or three at a time, and after I was done reading them, I'd grab a sketch book and pencils and try to recreate some of the cheesy B&W line art inside. Sometimes I would thumb through the books at the bookstore (always Waldenbooks or B. Dalton at a mall -- this is way old school, before the days of Barnes & Noble and Borders), hoping to pick up the ones that had cool pictures inside that I could draw. I especially was looking for ones with fantastical creatures. I might still have some of the sketches somewhere, there were so many.
