I've slashed the starting price of both of my eBay items in half. Ugh. This "eBay" thing frightens and confuses me. How come my friends can sell shit left and right -- including one who sold a readily-available CD for double its retail price to some yahoo in Georgia -- and I have yet to see one bid on either of my items?
Patience has never been one of my strong points.

Also be aware that many people won't bid until the last minute. Many auctions don't attract any activity until the very end.
Bidding early could start a bidding war with someone else who wants it, driving the price up. Waiting until the end helps keep the price down.

The zero-feedback thing can be a killer. That's a potential hallmark of a scam artist -- someone who moves in for a few quick bucks and then abandons that eBay account when the feedback flames roll in.
Also, consider that the auction listing's subject line auction is the most likely way people will find your items. You need to goose it with likely search terms like WRESTLING or CHEAP STEREO.
